Double Take

Double Take is about the faces we show, the faces we carry, and the parts of ourselves that sometimes exist at the same time. The overlapping figures create the feeling of seeing someone twice, but each look reveals something different. The bold colors, fractured shapes, eyes, fingerprints, and handprints suggest identity, memory, emotion, and the marks people leave behind. This piece asks the viewer to look again. The first glance sees color and faces. The second look begins to uncover the story beneath them.
